Llandudno - north Wales

The seaside resort of Llandudno is on the north coast of Wales sheltered by the two headlands of the Great Orme and Little Orme.

The waterfront is lined with large handsome Victorian and Edwardian buildings which are mainly B&Bs and hotels. There is plenty of holiday accommodation to choose from in Llandudno, including holiday cottages to rent.

It's the beaches of Llandudno and places of interest to visit that attract the visitors. The award winning North Shore beach and the quieter West Shore backed by sand dunes.

A pier extends into the sea where there are amusements, ice cream and candy floss vendors and all the fun of the fair.

This is a busy seaside resort where families gather in their hundreds during the summer. There is plenty to do for all ages, especially if you like organised entertainment. There are still donkey rides on the beach during the summer and traditional family seaside entertainment.

Go to the top of Great Orme Mountain by cable car from Happy Valley Gardens, or tram, to survey the views and find out more about local flora and fauna.

Take a trip around the coast in one of the pleasure boats operating from the jetties.

Introduce the family to skiing at the dry ski slope.

Be careful where you park and take time to read the signs because stricter restrictions apply from May to October and penalties are in operation. We would recommend that if you take a summer holiday that you find somewhere to stay in Llandudno with its own parking and use public transport or walk to get to the sea front.
