Farm holidays in north Wales

The countryside of north Wales is lovely. Much of it is farmland with rolling acres of arable land and meadow where sheep graze. Everyone is familiar with the magnificence of Snowdonia but the gentle views offered further east are not as well known and yet quite lovely. There are places for good walks everywhere. The countryside east of Snowdonia may better suit those who prefer a flat terrain.

One of the best places to stay for walkers is in a farm cottage - somewhere surrounded by a multitude of walks where one can walk directly from the cottage itself. There is a good many cottages to rent on farms for self-catering breaks for a week or weekend. Click on the following button to browse a selection of cottages for farm holidays in Wales.

One of our favourite walking locations in north Wales is in the Clwyd Forest, just north of Ruthin. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Climb the hills in the woodland to enjoy far reaching views.

Horse riding is also popular here with trails throughout the forest.

The Loggerheads Country Park is another spot with great views and broadleaved woodland. A visitor centre provides tourist literature, car parking and information.

One of the very best locations in north Wales for a farm holiday is on the Isle of Anglesey. Life is peaceful outside the main towns, horses gambol in the fields (this is horse country) and there are myriads of interlined country lanes for walks.

Do consider a farm holidays in Wales for a tranquil break with some gentle walking, perhaps cycling and a few days sightseeing.
